Lab
We test it in practice.
Not as a simulation. Not in an ivory tower. But together with the people who may later work with it, under real conditions.
Real-world Lab
Change begins with an experiment.
Not every good idea needs to be introduced immediately or rolled out organisation-wide. In the Lab, we turn an idea into a scoped experiment. The Lab is not a software workshop for arbitrary tooling. It is a practical test environment for theories, methods, organisational models and carefully selected technology use cases.
We are explicit with participating teams: we are trying something new for a defined period, observing what works, and deciding based on evidence whether it should continue.
Major change does not begin with major decisions. It begins with small, intentionally designed experiments.
Four weeks
A four-week field cycle
- Hypothesis We define the expected effect and how it would become observable.
- Experiment A team or clearly scoped area tests the approach under real conditions for four weeks.
- Review Participants assess together what worked, what created friction, and what was surprising.
- Decision Decide whether to stop, run another cycle with adjustments, or extend to additional teams and contexts.
No result is a failure. Even a rejected hypothesis creates learning and can prevent a costly large-scale rollout.
Possible experiments
What can be tested in the Lab
Similar to inspect-and-adapt cycles in agile teams, organisations evolve through small, reversible steps. Ideas are tested, reviewed and then retained, adjusted or discarded.
- New forms of agile teamwork
- Adapted Scrum or Kanban practices
- Better retrospectives and learning cycles
- New decision and prioritisation models
- Alternative status-meeting formats
- New leadership and collaboration models
- AI support in clearly defined work areas
- Human-AI collaboration
- AI in project management
- AI in knowledge management
- AI for documentation, analysis or preparation
- New forms of risk and project management
Controllable change
Transformation without betting everything at once.
A single cycle does not require long-term commitment or a full transformation decision. It creates a manageable entry point.
If an approach works, the next cycle follows. Each round adds adjustment and learning. This is how many small decisions can grow into meaningful change, without requiring a complete target state at the outset.
Part of the Magnetic Fields Cycle
Connected with the other fields
The Lab takes up questions and hypotheses from Consulting and makes them testable under real conditions. The resulting experience is reflected and further developed in the Institute.
See all three fields together: Consulting, Lab and Institute at a glance.

Which idea would you like to test under real conditions?
We design a scoped experiment with you that is understandable for participants, controllable for decision-makers and observable in its impact.
